Shaped as perfect as a plum, this partially handmade teapot in Dijon-mustard yellow has a subtle stone fleck in the bisque ware. Yellow, reserved for the emperor class alone, has been crafted here from a very unique version of authentic Duan ni (a combination of purple and green clays).
Duan ni clay has been procured for centuries from only the foothills near Yixing in Jiangsu province. Duan ni clay fires somewhat porous, and with continued use will retain a tea’s oils and essence.
