This enchanting aged ‘Gong Ting,’ or, ‘Old Palace’ brick is comprised of mostly bud material which was popular with the emperor ruling class during the Qing Dynasty. Mostly bud material was said to produce a more even and refined pu-erh tea experience. The chocolate-bar-like divisions of this cake are useful for separating individual brewing sessions. This cake steeps dark and rich, very smooth and creamy, balanced, with pronounced notes of aged camphor wood and deep earth.
